2017 Subaru Legacy

The existing Subaru Legacy has a cute and admirable profile.
Bearing this in mind, we don’t expect Subaru to tamper with an
already good thing. The Legacy first appeared as a small sedan
in 1990 and with time it has grown both in size and

Previously, the vehicle was available as a wagon and sedan, a
feature that brought a lot of confusion. However, in 2007 the
wagon was given a different nomenclature which now sells as the
“Subaru Outback”.

2017 Subaru Legacy Exterior

The 2015 Subaru Legacy exterior profile looks amazing and we
don’t expect the automaker to make any extensive changes. At
the front, the Legacy has been hooked up with a redesigned
chromed grille with the Subaru logo at the center. The grille
is flanked by a pair of new LED headlights.

The 2017 Subaru Legacy will also feature LED fog lights to aid
in poorly lit areas.  At the rear, the vehicle features a
modified bumper integrated with dual exhaust pipes. The rear
also features new LED taillights.

Overall, the Legacy weighs less due to the use of lightweight
materials. This will improve its performance and fuel economy.
The 2017 Subaru Legacy will run on a new set of 18-inch alloy
wheels, higher trim models will ride on 20-inch alloy wheels.
We are meant to believe that its suspension will also be to
feature an improved one.

2017 Subaru Legacy Interior

The cabin setting will remain unchanged. However, it will be
hooked up with modern and quality materials. According to
rumors, Subaru will feature a mix of fiber, leather and wood
materials in furnishing the cabin.

The cabin will accommodate five passengers. The rear seats will
have a split-folding capability to allow expansion of cargo
space. Among others, standard features will include; a Starlink
touch screen infotainment system featuring a back up camera and
dynamic torque vectoring to improve handling.

For convenience, the 2017 Subaru Legacy will feature as
standard; power operated mirrors and windows, keyless entry,
Bluetooth connectivity, Smartphone integration, a CD player and
air conditioning. To improve safety of the occupants, the model
will feature electronic brake force distribution, ABS and
vehicle dynamics control.

Engine Specs and Performance

Under the hood of the 2017 Subaru Legacy will be a choice
between three engines. There are also rumors of a hybrid
engine. The two engines are carryovers from the outgoing model.

The first unit is a 2.5 L, 4-cylinder engine that is capable of
producing 175 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be
paired with a CVT system and will be offered in all wheel

The second engine will be a 3.6 L, V6 engine capable of
producing 256 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. Similarly, the engine
will be mated with a CVT system. In terms of fuel economy, the
2.5 L engine is rated at 26 mpg in city drives and 36 mpg on
highway drives. On the other hand, the V6 engine is rated at 20
mpg city and 29 mpg on highway.

There is also talk of a 2.0 L, turbocharged engine capable of
delivering 250 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.

Price and release date

Subaru is still tight lipped about the price or release date of
the new Legacy. According to rumor mills, the vehicle will be
released to dealerships in the second half of 2016. As for the
price, it will change slightly from the current model’s
starting MSRP price of $ 21,700 mainly to reflect inflation
adjustments. Higher trims will cost more.

The concept of the new 2017 Subaru Legacy looks fantastic,
dynamic and sporty. Competition could be 2017 Ford Fusion, Toyota Avalon or maybe Nissan Altima.
