Following months of teasers of the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace
camouflaged in different bodies, the automaker finally debuted
the actual production model of the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace during
the Frankfurt Auto Show.
This is Jaguar’s first ever crossover SUV and the automaker
aims to offer a unique style featuring advanced technology and
excellent engineering that should give the F-Pace a competitive
edge in the intensively competitive midsize automobile market
segment. The automaker has branded the model’s look as
“assertive yet not aggressive”.
The new F-Pace is an all weather vehicle and will be
offered in six trim levels in the U.S, these will be; Base,
Premium, Prestige, R-Sport, S and First Edition.
Jaguar F-Pace 2017 Exterior
The 2017 Jaguar F-Pace is based on the C-X17 crossover
concept and exterior dimensions will be as follows; 186.3
inches length, 86.6 inches width and 65.6 inches height; it
will have a wheel base of 113.1 inches and a ground clearance
of 8.4 inches. The new Jaguar will weigh 3,913 lbs.
The exterior of the 4-door crossover SUV retains most features
of the C-X17 concept and also borrows from the F-Type and XE
sedans. The body which is mainly made from aluminum features
numerous swooping lines. At the front there is an upright mesh
grille which is aero-friendly and is integrated with LED
headlights on each side. The front bumper has been updated and
houses the fog lights. The front also feature large air vents
that channel cooling air to the engine.
On the sides, you will see a pair of side gills that run over
the front doors as well as an inverted crease that gives the
vehicle an agile stance. At the back, there are LED taillights
that are located high to make them look visible and to increase
the vehicles aerodynamics. The tail gate is power-operated and
is fitted with gesture control. It will ride on 22-inch wheels.
2017 Jaguar F-Pace Interior
The interior bespeaks of excellent styling that characterizes
new-gen Jaguars. Its cabin which will accommodate five
passengers is excellently styled to offer premium comfort. The
seats are arranged in a way to offer plenty of passenger and
The rear seats can be folded to further increase cargo space to
61.4 cubic feet up from 33.5 cubic feet when the seats are not
folded. The automaker has also set space for a child seat. To
regulate the interior temperatures is a modern dual-zone
climate control system.
Other features include an 8.0 inch touch-screen infotainment
system that is compatible with Smartphone-style swipe gestures
and with Android and Apple apps. There is also a
17-speaker, 825-watt Meridian sound system . InControl Touch
Pro is offered on optional basis and it features a 10.2 inch
screen fast Ethernet Wi-Fi connectivity and 60GB hard drive.
The vehicle will also be offered with a Jaguar’s Activity Key
that disables the keyfob.
Engine Specs and Performance
The 2017 Jaguar F-Pace will be offered in both petrol and
diesel engines. The first unit is a 3.0 L supercharged V-6
engine. This engine has a capacity to produce 340 hp and 332
lb-ft of torque.
The S trim model will feature this V-6 engine but modified to
produce 380 hp. This engine will push the S trim model from
0-60 mph in 5.1 seconds.
There will also be another engine which will follow up slightly
later; this will be a 2.0 L turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel
engine that will produce 180 hp and 318 lb-ft of torque. This
engine will be much slow and is expected to accelerate from
0-60 mph in a slow 8.2 seconds.
All the three engines will be mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic
gearbox. They will also be offered in AWD. The vehicle will
also feature the automaker’s Adaptive Surface Response traction
control system and Braking-based torque vectoring to enhance
its grip in low-traction environments.
Price and release date
The sale of the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace will commence in the spring
of 2016. The base trim will have a starting MSRP price of $
40,990 for the turbo-diesel 2.0 L models while the V6 variants
will attract a starting MSRP price of $43,385 for the 340 hp
models and $ 57,695 for the 380 hp models, most expensive is
First Edition model with base MSRP From $ 69,700 . All buyers

The new 2017 Jaguar F-Pace will have serious competition among
BMW X5, Audi Q5, Mercedes GLC or perhaps Toyota Highlander.
